Xavier Dolan is a French Canadian filmmaker. He is probably one of the youngest filmmaker in the list. Dolan made his first movie when he was 20, whose script he wrote at 16. His movies are not influenced by nor reflects any major director’s style. His movies are what one calls completely original. He has the potential to become an auteur.
The film to be spotlighted is 2014 movie Mommy. The movie set in future where law states that the parents of troubled children can place their children in hospital. Once again Dolan deals mother – son relationship. The movie is moving and talks about broken connects and deals with depression and distress in artistic way.
Other notable works of Dolan are I killed my mother, Tom at the farm and death and life of John F Donovan.
